Back In July just after lockdown measures were relaxed I was following the route above, I was please to see the Castle Trust were able to open there door to members of the public. Unfortunately, the route that I had passed through for many years had been blocked by new gates, this was an upsetting experience for me as I understood that this would be a permanent feature of the route. For a few days after this, I tried to get some answers through many different avenues, Gwrych trust, Abergele and Conwy councilors. The only response I got, was certainly not what I expected, more about that later.
During August I posted a form collecting the details of footpath users and their evidence, the response was indeed overwhelming. An application for a modification order was accepted by Conwy, but they did not accept the evidence I had provided, they later rejected the application. The user evidence has to be in paper format, some have forwarded their evidence to me, and I’m still seeking user evidence for the route above, recent circumstances have caused a delay in this process. And therefore the evidence is only available to me if users supply. Each path needs a separate application, so, quite a lot to do moving forward. Path 2 (Nant y Bella -Fire road exist) I have some user evidence of this route too.
I would like to mention that the recent debates have contributed to a lot of new information. It has been quite an ordeal and I recognized that I was not alone in my endeavours, I would like to thank all of you that have contributed and particularly the administrator of the community page where, our viewpoint was not silenced, that effectively enabled this groups formation.
